Terms of Use

Last updated: October 3, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of binfileopener.com (the “Site”) and its online BIN file opener (the “Tool”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. The service

The Tool lets you inspect files in your web browser: detect the file type, view bytes in hex, read text strings, preview supported media and save or export data. The Tool runs on your device. Files are not uploaded to us. The Site also publishes free guides about files and file formats.

2. Free use and changes

The Site and Tool are free to use. We may change, add or remove features, or pause or end the service, at any time and without notice. We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date shows when they last changed, and continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site lawfully. You must not:

  • Use the Tool or our guides to break the law, infringe copyright or other rights, or bypass security or copy protection you are not entitled to bypass.
  • Use the Site to analyze or spread malware with intent to cause harm.
  • Try to disrupt, overload, attack or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its servers.
  • Copy or republish our articles in bulk without permission.

You are responsible for the files you open and for having the right to use them.

4. Your files and results

You keep all rights to your files. Because the Tool works locally, we never receive them. Results such as detected file types, previews, CUE files and exports are generated automatically and may not always be correct. Always keep a backup of important files and check results before relying on them.

5. Guides and information

Our articles are for general information. Steps can differ between devices, versions and file types. Following any guide, especially for firmware, BIOS, ECU or chip data, is at your own risk. See our Disclaimer.

6. Third-party tools and links

We mention and link to third-party software and websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, safety, availability or terms. Download software only from official sources.

7. Intellectual property

The Site’s design, text, graphics and code belong to BinFileOpener or its licensors and are protected by law. You may link to our pages and quote short excerpts with a link back. Product names and brands mentioned on the Site belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.

8. No warranty

The Site and Tool are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted operation, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, BinFileOpener is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, devices, profits or business, arising from your use of the Site, the Tool or our guides. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.
