This Privacy Policy explains how BinFileOpener (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use binfileopener.com (the “Site”), including our online BIN file opener (the “Tool”). We keep this simple, because we collect very little.
1. Files you open stay on your device
The Tool reads files entirely inside your web browser using standard browser features. When you choose or drop a file:
- The file is not uploaded to our servers or to any third party.
- We do not see, store or keep the file, its contents, its name or the results of the analysis.
- Hex views, text strings, previews, checksums and exports are created on your device. Exported files are saved directly to your device.
When you close or reload the page, the data the Tool loaded is gone from the page.
2. Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our web server and hosting provider receive basic technical information when you load a page. This can include your IP address, browser type, device type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. This data is used to deliver the Site, keep it secure, prevent abuse and fix errors. Server logs are kept for a limited time by our hosting provider.
The Site uses a caching system to load pages faster. It may set technical cookies that are needed for the Site to work.
3. Fonts from Google
The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information. You can read how Google handles this in the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Analytics and advertising
At the date shown above, the Site does not use analytics tracking, advertising networks or social media tracking pixels. If we add analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this policy before doing so, describe the provider and the data involved, and ask for consent where the law requires it.
5. When you email us
If you contact us at hello@binfileopener.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use this only to reply and to improve the Site. We do not sell it or add you to a mailing list without your permission. Please do not send private files by email.

7. Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share limited technical data only with service providers who help us run the Site, such as our hosting provider, and only as needed for that purpose, or when required by law.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because the Tool does not collect your files, the only personal data we usually hold is what you send us by email. To make a request, email hello@binfileopener.com.
9. Children
The Site is a general audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS. Because the Tool processes files locally, your files are never exposed to our servers in the first place.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top and, for significant changes, add a notice on the Site.
